Sideline Hill Hackle
Evan Brant’s family has owned their farm since 1866. Evan started tying flies when he was 12 and continued while at Penn State. He was involved in the fly fishing club there. When he realized he was going to return to the farm full-time, he thought he could incorporate fly fishing into everyday life by raising birds. Initially, Evan just planned to raise a few for himself and some friends, but it quickly grew to about a thousand, and it just keeps expanding. Today, Sideling Hill Hackle produces a large variety of high quality hackle to suit every fly tier’s needs.
Read an interview with Evan Brant in the February/March issue of Dark Skies Fly Fishing Magazine in which Brant discusses how to choose the right hackle for tying flies.
