Fish often enough, and every now and then something amazing happens! In early July, following several days of thunderstorms and cooler weather, I was able to get on the stream and chase some big wild brown trout. I ended up landing my personal best wild brown, and I was fortunate enough to get it all on video.
If you want to know how to catch big trout on your local waters, watch until the end. I offer 4 tips for catching big trout anywhere in the country. Thanks for watching!

Great video, congrats on a stellar Brownie.. oh, and I believe your father did some taxidermy for my father-in-law and I back in the 90s . He did 2 turkeys for me and a bear for my father-in-law. I got into fly fishing a few years ago and absolutely love it. I can’t believe how addictive it’s become lol.. I mostly fish the Buffalo, Neshannock and some local streams here in Butler. Be nice to maybe spend some time on the eater with you some day. I believe we met years ago at your parents house. Well anyways, great video and as always great articles. Keep them coming..God bless and Tight lines… Ben McCurdy. Butler
Hi Ben,
Thank you so much for your comments! I truly appreciate you taking the time to drop a line. I’m glad you’ve discovered fly fishing, and it is absolutely addictive! I loved to Coudersport February 2022, but still get back to Butler every now and then to fish Buffalo and Neshannock. Would be great to meet up and fish some time. And if you’re ever up in north central PA, drop me a line!
Have a great day, my friend.
